Qualification Description

This qualification is suitable for people working in the rating stream in the maritime industry as a crew member on a ship, carrying out maintenance and lookout duties on decks and in ship engine rooms.

Integrated ratings steer a vessel under the direction of the officer of the watch, and work on deck and in the engine room under the direction of the officer of the watch.

This qualification meets the competency requirements of an Integrated Rating as described in Marine Orders 70 and 73 (2014) under the Australian Navigation Act 2012 administered by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

Other requirements include sea-service, a declaration of medical fitness and completion of a task record book. People seeking AMSA certification should check the requirements with AMSA.
