Skill Set Description

This skill set provides a set of skills for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers to specialise in the provision of disability care services for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.

CHCDIS010 Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs

HLTAHW025 Provide information and strategies in health care

HLTAHW051 Respond to loss, grief and trauma

These units may provide credit towards a range of qualifications in the health and community sectors.

No licensing, legislative or certificate requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Skill Set Requirements

This skill set has been endorsed by industry as appropriate for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who hold a community services or health qualification at Certificate III level or higher or commensurate industry skills as evaluated through recognition of prior learning processes.

Target Group

This skill set provides a pathway for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers to specialise in the provision of disability care services for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.

Application of this skill set is only appropriate under the supervision of a relevant health professional and as a member of a health care team.
