Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to manage security. It includes the skills required to ensure compliance with security procedures, maintain the safety and security of staff and/or offenders and maintain safety and security documentation. This unit applies to those working with offenders/detainees/staff in prisons, secure custodial centres and community facilities under custodial supervision, with responsibility for managing security matters. Those undertaking this unit work independently, drawing upon support from a range of established resources. The role requires complex task organisation, analysis and decision making skills. Working as part of a coordinated team is integral to the role. Statutory/legislative requirements apply to this unit and may vary across states and territories. Users are required to check with the relevant jurisdiction for current requirements. |
