Unit Descriptor
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to install approved prefabricated domestic treatment plants.
Application of the Unit
This unit of competency supports development of skills for installation of treatment plants in domestic situations.
Site location for work application may be a new work site, or an existing structure being renovated, extended, restored or maintained.
Licensing/Regulatory Information

Design and capacity of plant are confirmed to comply with relevant Australian standards and requirements of regulatory authorities, the installation and the site. |

Quantity and type of materials required are calculated from plans, drawings and specifications. |

Install domestic treatment plant. |

Size and location of excavation are marked out to comply with plans, drawings and specifications, installation and site requirements. |

Site is excavated and preparation for installation is undertaken according to installation requirements for the plant, plans, permits and site requirements, ensuring minimal damage to surrounding structures or environment. |

Domestic treatment plant is installed and secured in specified position to prevent movement or damage to plant in compliance with requirements of responsible authority for the installation and inspection of domestic treatment plants. |

Sustainability principles and concepts are observed when preparing for and undertaking work process. |

Plant is filled with water to prevent flotation as required. |

This competency is to be assessed using standard and authorised work practices, safety requirements and environmental constraints.
