Qualification Description
This qualification provides individuals with technical and non-technical aviation skills to operate effectively in a broad range of aviation security screening roles. Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and limited judgement in structured and stable contexts within narrow parameters. This qualification forms some of the requirements for certification as an Aviation Screening Officer as directed by the current Aviation Transport Security Regulations. People seeking certification should check these requirements with the relevant Australian Government department responsible for aviation transport security. Use for Defence Aviation is to be in accordance with relevant Defence Orders, Instructions, Publications and Regulations. Occupations may include : Aviation Screening Officer Aviation Transport Protection Officer – Passenger Screener Aviation Transport Protection Officer – Non-Passenger Screener. |

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Packaging Rules
A total of 13 units of competency comprising: 7 core units listed below plus 1 technical elective unit from the technical elective units listed below plus 5 general elective units from the general elective units listed below. Up to 3 of the general elective units may be selected from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course. The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification. Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with. |

Qualification Mapping Information
This qualification replaces and is equivalent to AVI20613 Certificate II in Aviation Transport Protection (Passenger/Non-Passenger Screener).
