1. Plan and prepare |
1.1. Activities are carried out according to OHS and organisation requirements 1.2. Work instructions, including relevant inspection reports and forms and quality requirements are obtained, confirmed with appropriate personnel and applied 1.3. Tools and equipment selected to carry out tasks are consistent with job requirements, checked for serviceability and any faults are rectified or reported prior to commencement 1.4. Materials appropriate to the work application are identified, obtained, prepared, safely handled and located ready for use |
2. Assess structural fault/defect |
2.1. Vehicle bodies/components are inspected to confirm the extent and nature of the structural fault or defect 2.2. Faults or defects found are assessed for remedial action and on-line or off-line solutions 2.3. Solution to repair the fault or defect is selected and planned |
3. Prepare for rectification |
3.1. Drawings or sketches are produced to plan and organise the rectification process 3.2. Plans/drawings for rectification are presented to appropriate personnel for approval 3.3. Equipment or tools to complete the rectification are selected |
4. Repair fault/defect |
4.1. Faulty welds, connectors or defective areas are cut or ground in preparation for new welding or connectors 4.2. Rectification of structural fault or defect is performed with application of new connectors or re-welding 4.3. Faulty or defective area is finished to specifications 4.4. Documentation is completed outlining nature of problem, work conducted and outcome, in accordance with organisation requirements 4.5. Repaired vehicle/components are processed for inspection and returned to the production sequence |
5. Clean up |
5.1. Work area is cleared and materials disposed of, reused or recycled in accordance with organisation requirements and cost reduction initiatives 5.2. Tools and equipment are cleaned, checked, maintained and stored in accordance with organisation requirements |
