Performance Evidence

Before competency can be determined, individuals must have competently maintained a safe automotive manufacturing work environment on a minimum of three occasions.

Individuals must demonstrate they can:

  • perform a risk analysis of the work area
  • monitor the work environment and identify work health and safety (WHS) inadequacies
  • comply with WHS requirements and workplace procedures for monitoring and maintaining a safe work environment
  • identify and make recommendations relating to WHS improvements.

Knowledge Evidence

Individuals must be able to demonstrate knowledge of:

  • WHS requirements of an automotive manufacturing work environment
  • procedures for performing risk analyses and applying appropriate control measures
  • procedures for distributing WHS information to personnel
  • methods of maintaining and analysing accident and incident reports
  • procedures for monitoring and evaluating WHS control measures to maintain a safe automotive work environment.

Assessment Conditions

Assessors must satisfy SNR/AQTF assessor requirements.

Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting.

Where assessment of competency includes third-party evidence, individuals must provide evidence that demonstrates they have monitored and maintained a safe automotive work environment, e.g. risk analysis sheets, or accident or incident reports.

Assessors must verify performance evidence through questioning on skills and knowledge to ensure correct interpretation and application.

The following resources must be made available:

  • automotive manufacturing workplace or simulated workplace
  • automotive manufacturing work area instructions and plans
  • workplace procedures and instructions relevant to the candidate’s automotive manufacturing work area
